Development of a Professional Learning Community Model Integrated with Quality Management to Enhance Active Learning Management of Teachers at Ban Samed School, Krasang District, Buriram Province

Abstract

             The objectives of this research were to: 1) examine the essential background information for developing a model of a Professional Learning Community (PLC) integrated with quality management to enhance active learning management among teachers at Ban Samed School, Krasang District, Buriram Province; 2) develop and validate a model of a Professional Learning Community integrated with quality management to improve teachers’ active learning management at Ban Samed School; 3) investigate the effects of implementing the model of a Professional Learning Community integrated with quality management on the enhancement of active learning management of the teachers at Ban Samed School; and 4) evaluate the overall effectiveness of the developed model. This research employed a research and development (R&D) design. The key informants consisted of nine model teachers, nine specialists, nine experts, and twelve teachers from Ban Samed School, all of whom were selected through purposive sampling. The instruments used for data collection included an interview form, a checklist, and an evaluation form. Data were analyzed using mean, standard deviation, and content analysis.
             The research results found that:
             1. The foundational data for the PLC model integrated with quality management consisted of 6 components: principles of the model, objectives of the model, content of the model, processes of the model, measurement and evaluation, and success factors.
             2. The PLC model integrated with quality management for developing proactive learning management among teachers at Ban Samed School was highly consistent and appropriate.
             3. Teachers at Ban Samed School demonstrated very good skills in designing proactive learning management, implementing proactive learning management, and measuring and evaluating proactive learning management, with the highest level of quality in writing proactive learning management plans.
            4. Teachers at Ban Samed School strongly agreed with the PLC model integrated with quality management.
