SANGHAVATTU-DHAMMA APPLICATION FOR PROMOTING LOCAL POLITICIANS’ ROLES IN COMMUNITY ECONOMY DEVELOPMENT AT MUANG MAI SUB-DISTRICT, IN AMPAWA DISTRICT, OF SAMUT SONGKRAM PROVINCE

This research aims to: 1. To study the level of role of local politicians in community economic development. 2. To study the relationship between the principles of Sanghahavatthu Dhamma and the role of local politicians in community economic development. 3. To propose the application of Sanghahavatthu Dhamma to promote the role of local politicians in community economic development in Muang Mai Subdistrict, Amphawa District, Samut Songkhram Province. The research employs a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative and qualitative research. Quantitative research involved a questionnaire with a reliability coefficient of 0.106, collected from a sample of 304 people. Data was analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and Pearson correlation coefficient. Qualitative research involved in-depth interviews with nine key informants, utilizing descriptive content analysis.
The research results found that: 1. The overall role of local politicians in community economic development in Muang Mai Subdistrict, Amphawa District, Samut Songkhram Province, is high ( =4.34). 2. The principles of Sanghahavatthu Dhamma have a weak positive correlation with the role of local politicians in community economic development in Muang Mai Subdistrict, Amphawa District, Samut Songkhram Province (r=0.368**). 3. The application of Sanghahavatthu Dhamma by local politicians in community economic development in Muang Mai Subdistrict, Amphawa District, Samut Songkhram Province shows that the aspect of Piyavaca pleasant speech demonstrates that local politicians prioritize polite, constructive communication and respect for the opinions of the people. The aspect of Samanattata appropriate conduct emphasizes equality and the participation of all sectors. However, the aspect of Atthacariya helping the people still needs further promotion to provide more comprehensive and tangible assistance to the people. Finally, the aspect of Dana generosity should be further developed, especially in the equitable distribution of resources, opportunities, and knowledge to all groups in the community.
