“PRATEEP BURANAMEE TARA” THE CREATION DANCE FOR RITUALS AND BELIEFS

Abstract

The author would like to present the knowledge of how to create dance for serving rituals and beliefs. It was explained through the research article "Prateep Buranamee Tara", creating dance to serve rituals and beliefs. This research aimed to create and design dance performances. The author synthesized knowledge from texts, academic document, practicing, observations, expert interviews, and reviewing previous research. The results of the research showed that the creation of the dance for serving rituals and beliefs “Prateep Buranamee Tara” consists of six elements which are concepts, actors, melody designs, posture designs, costume designs, and the use of stage design. This performance reflects 1) the form of the performance in order to serve rituals and beliefs and 2) the elaboration of the dance showing through concept, definition of organ movement, the meaning of props, space usage, every element of the performance, and dance process. This research contributed to the creating of the dance "Prateep Buranamee Tara” This dance will be one of the ways to create the dance for serving rituals and beliefs. The evaluation of opinions from 200 people who saw the performance found that people showed the highest satisfaction in watching the show ( = 4.71, S.D.= 0.83). In the source of performance, the satisfaction was at the highest level ( = 4.65, S.D. = 0.71). And the satisfaction with the benefits was at the highest level ( = 4.53, S.D. = 0.67).
