PRELUDE DANCE SCRIPTS FROM KHON PERFORMANCE AS A NOTEBOOK OF THAILAND IMPORTANT EVENTS

Abstract
This article aims to study Thailand important events through scripts of prelude dance called “Ram Berk-rong” from Khon performance. The results found that there are 4 opening dance performances between 2012 - 2019. In each performance, not only contains a glorification of Chakri dynasty, it is also a record of Thai society: 1) The 80th Birthday anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, 2) The political movement of People Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC), 3) The coronation of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua (Rama X), and 4) The celebration of the name of Queen Sirikit and the continuing her majesty’s work by Queen Suthida. Prelude dance scripts from Khon performance is the representative of Thai art and culture while important events in Thailand represent history. Thai art and culture are like thick book that records the history, so understanding between Thai art and culture and Thai history can give a clear appreciation of the nation from the past to the present.
