Thai Film Censorship, What do still have something to study? Exploring the Trajectory of the Thai Film Censorship Studies in Socio-Cultural Dimension

This article aims to explore the collective studies of Thai film censorship, by using the defi- nite concept of legal censorship and constitutive censorship as the criterion. The result of this exploring shows that most of the studies focus on legal censorship although there are a few that focus on constitutive censorship by considering in the construction of ideology or mindset but still examining in only the groups of people who have a social role in the state and influenced to the legal censorship system directly so if we turn to examine the constitutive censorship that impact on the role of other groups of people who have a social role in mobilizing the Thai film regulation especially the groups which are not involved with the state explicitly but they are stakeholders in the Thai film regulation such as the religious groups who protest against each films to mobilize the film censorship in such aspects, we may expand the extent of the Thai film censorship studies in socio-cultural dimension and lead to the understanding in a factor that impacts on the creative thinking and progressing of Thai film enterprise.
