Role of Reporting “Citizen Journalists Program” in Thai PBS

The objectives of this research were to study the role of reporting and types of news of Thai PBS Citizen News Reports by methodology of qualitative research, analyzing the content of Thai PBS’s Citizen Report news program during the period of June 2010 – 2013 and 2015, overall 5 years and 953 news and deep interviewing with 2 groups were 6 organizers of Thai PBS Citizen News Reports and 14 Thai PBS Citizen News Reporters.
The finding revealed that
1.The role of reporting of Thai PBS Citizen News Reports
The reporting of Thai PBS Citizen News Reports mainly emphasized on role of information reporting and continuity, correlation, mobilization respectively but the role of enter- tainment was not appeared in this program.
2.The types of news of Thai PBS Citizen News Reports
The reporting of Thai PBS Citizen News Reports mainly emphasized on reporting
of soft news more than hard news and firstly reported education news and art and culture news, environment news, social and women news, agriculture news, politics news, science and research news respectively but royal residence news, entertainment news, sport news and technology and computer news were not reported in this program.
