(Decoding Consumer’s Black Box: A Comparative Perspective on Information Processing Process ELM, SHM and SJT)

Abstract

        Understanding consumer as an audience has been studied for a long time and born into a lot of theory that try to explain behavioral response to stimuli. To understand the process of information processing, which is a brain mechanism, we need to explore through a group of theory called Information Processing Theory Approach, grounded from Psychology. This article gather, analysis and compare three theories including ELM, SHM and SJT, aimed to understand consumer as an audience deeply. This can be uses as a content design’s guideline for effective commercial message or social development message.
