Analysis of The Narrative of Movie with Violence

Abstract

        The objective of this research to analyze 5 feature films that show the violence caused by the injustice: Taxi Driver, The Brave One, Law Abiding Citizen, Death Wish, Joker. The researcher uses the story telling element to be the framework of this textual analysis research. The result of the research shows that protagonists in these feature films that shows the violence and human behavior always got harassed mentally and physically. They cannot rely on the justice therefore they need to rely on themselves. The genre of these films are mostly drama, thriller, and crime respectively. The conflict of these films is mostly the conflict between characters and society of individuals. Most of these films have closed ending. All these films have linear narrative. The setting of these films is mostly in big city and occurs in the present while some of them occurs in the past. The dialogue of these protagonists always shows the wound inside through the words and tone. These films use special effects to make films look more realistic that brings the audience gets more into the films.
