Development of innovative media for health protection and health promotion of agricultural workers under the concept of BCG economy

Abstract

        The Research on the Development of Innovative Media for Health Protection and Health Promotion among Agricultural Workers under the BCG Economy Framework was conducted with the following objectives: 1.to develop innovative media for health protection of agricultural workers under the BCG economy framework, 2.to develop innovative media for health promotion of agricultural workers under the BCG economy framework, and 3.to examine the quality of the developed innovative media for both health protection and health promotion. A mixed-methods approach, incorporating both qualitative and quantitative research, was employed in Samut Prakan Province. The findings revealed that the innovative media for health protection and promotion of agricultural workers under the BCG economy framework was a program entitled “Sukkaparb Dee-Dee Kub Kaset BCG”, consisting of six episodes: (1) The Pre-test, (2) Disease-Free Animals, Safe People, (3) The Frogman, (4) Muscles Cry for Life, (5) Livestock OK, and (6) Vitamin B1: The Partner of Thai Fisheries. The quality assessment of the innovative media was conducted with three groups of participants—crop farmers, livestock farmers, and fishery farmers—using a pre- and post-test design. The results showed that the overall mean satisfaction score with the six episodes of “Sukkaparb Dee-Dee Kub Kaset BCG” was 4.63 (SD = 0.58), indicating the highest level of knowledge acquisition and satisfaction.
