The Quality-of-Life Development System Based on the Threefold Training (Sīla-Samādhi-Paññā) for Students of Buddhist General Education Schools in Phetchabun Province

Abstract

This research aimed to: (1) study and analyze the basic information and learner characteristics of students in Buddhist general education schools in Phetchabun Province; (2) develop learning activities within a quality-of-life development system based on the Threefold Training (Sīla-Samādhi-Paññā); (3) implement and test the effectiveness of the system; and (4) evaluate the system’s impact on students’ quality of life and learning outcomes. The study employed a Research and Development (R&D) methodology, integrating experimental implementation and evaluation of learning bases, with a sample of 123 participating students. The findings revealed that: 1. Students exhibited the highest learning style in the Collaborative domain, followed by Participant and Dependent, while the Avoidant style was the lowest. Most students were classified at the medium proficiency level (51.22%). 2. Results of the Quality Assessment of the Quality-of-Life Development System Based on the Trisik Leg Principal of Students of Prapriyatham School Department of General Education, Phetchabun Province by 5 experts, with the highest overall level. The development of five activity formats grounded in the Threefold Training Dhamma Courtyard Learning, Mindfulness in the Learning Field, Novice Relationship Building, Analytical Reflection in Classrooms, and Sacred Space for Well-being was rated at the highest level of appropriateness. 3. Post-implementation results showed that students’ post-test scores were significantly higher than their pre-test scores (t = 29.304, Sig. = .000). The KPA assessment indicated that Attitude (A) ranked highest, followed by Knowledge (K) and Practice (P). 4. Overall school quality and student quality of life improved significantly, both assessed at the highest level.
