The Synthesis of Buddhism Literature in 30 Theology Texts that should be Read by Thais

Abstract

The objective of this research article was to synthesize the Buddhist literatures in 30 theology texts that Thais should read with studying both the documents and the empirical data from the forms. The research was the qualitative research process by quantitative data analysis with the frequency distribution and qualitative data analysis with the content analysis. The research found that: The Buddhist literatures in 30 theology texts that Thais should read were divided into 9 groups: (1) the history of Buddhism including Jinakalamalipakaranam, Tamnan Munlasatsana, Kalanukom and the heart of Buddhism, (2) the history of Buddha including Pathomsombodhi, the history of Buddha from the mouth and Sangitiyavansa, (3) what the Gautama Buddha enlightened including Paticcasamuppada from the mouth, Ariyasacca from the mouth and Idappaccayata, (4) the Dhamma principles in Buddhism including Tripitaka for people, Dhammadhipaya and Pannavivadha, (5) the Scriptures in Buddhism including Visuddhimagga, Vimuttimagga and Milindapanha, (6) the reference in education including Dictionary, Dictionary of Buddhism,  and Dictionary of Buddhist studies, (7) the life learning including Buddha-Dhamma, Hand Book For Mankind, A Constitution for Living and Mangaladipani, (8) the action of man was called Karma including Kammadipani, Vipassanadipani and Vimuttirattanamali and (9) Where the man lived after their death including Bhumivilasini, Traibhumikatha, Lokadipakasara and Cakkavaladipani.
