Study to Improve of Employees Safety Measures Using the 3E Method and the GMP Standard Case Study of Chaixi Noodle co., LTD

Abstract

The research paper aims to analyze the causes and improvement of efficiency and safety of the employees of Chaixi Bameekiao Co., Ltd. This is a qualitative study with observation and in-depth interviews with 7 key respondents consisting of managerial, supervisory, and operation staff. The findings show that the causes of problems are from employees’ lack of safety consciousness and wearing tools at work, and no check of the condition of the machines in which resulting in machinery failure. Prior to applying the 3E principle and GMP standard to improve employee safety measures, it was found that there were 5 issues to be improved: wearing accessories, wearing factory caps, machine hazards, employee’s health condition, and dust from powder. After the improvement, it was found that there was improvement of employee engagement. Consequently, there was no more issue regarding wearing accessories. The employees wore factory caps while working. There were consciousness of production workers on the machines and health check prior to entering work. There was also limited area for powder section. Therefore, all employees obeyed the rules and regulations set up by the company. The employees did their jobs perfectly with corporate training to be efficient staff and create safety for themselves and their colleagues. The company also offered basic safety training courses to the employees so that they could apply knowledge of safety in daily life and be able to solve immediate problems arising from accidents at work. The consequences are that the employees are more conscious at work and that they do self-check, as well as checking others, prior to entering work to avoid potential safety hazards in factory.
