Developing a Program to Enhance Teacher’s Competency on Classroom Management in Schools under Sa Kaeo Primary Educational Service Area Office 1

Abstract

The purposes of this research article were 1) to study the current and desirable conditions of teacher’s competency in classroom management under the Sa Kaeo Educational Service Area Office 1; 2) to develop a program to enhance teacher’s competency on classroom management for Schools under Sa Kaeo Primary Educational Service Area Office 1; 3) to try out the teacher competency enhancement program for classroom management in schools under the Office of Sa Kaeo Primary Educational Service Area Office 1; 4) to prepare a manual for the development of a program for enhancing teacher’s competency on classroom management in schools under the Office of Sa Kaeo Primary Educational Service Area 1. The tools used to collect data were questionnaires, assessment forms and tests. Statistics used in analyzing data were percentage, mean, standard deviation, need index and t-test. The research findings were as follows 1) the current condition of the classroom management competency, overall was at a high level but the desirable condition of the classroom administration competency, overall was at the highest level; 2) components and indicators of classroom administrative competency had 4 components, totaling 23 indicators, confirmed by experts, were appropriate at the high level; 3) the development of the program to enhance the classroom management competency developed, the program evaluation results were at the highest level; 4) as a result of the application of the program, it was found that the knowledge test results on the competency of classroom management before the development had an average of 11.66, representing 58.3 percent, and the score after developing the competency of classroom management had an average of 17.1, representing 85.5 percent. Teachers had the classroom management ability, overall were at the highest level. And the satisfaction assessment of the program participants, overall in all aspects was at the highest level.
