Factors Affecting Drugs Offenses in Amata City Industrial Estate Area, Chonburi Province

Abstract

The objectives of this research article were 1) to study the factors affecting drugs offenses in Amata City Industrial Estate Area, Chonburi Province; and 2) to present guidelines for solving problems and how to prevent drug offenses in Amata City Industrial Estate Area, Chonburi Province by dividing into 4 aspects, namely family aspect, social aspect, working environment aspect and economic aspect. It was a quantitative research. The sample size was calculated using the Taro Yamane formula. There were 400 samples from a population of 215,425 people. The research tools were questionnaires. Statistics used in data analysis were frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and one way analysis of variance. ANOVA was used to test for differences in means of more than two groups. The results showed that 1) most of the samples were male, 324 people, 80%, aged between 21-30 years, 229 people, 57.1%, high school education level, 148 people, 36.9 %, single status, 282 people, 70.3%, employees in private company, 264 people, 65.8%, personal income per month from 15,001-25,000 baht, 207 people, 51.6%. The results of data analysis found that the factors affecting drug offenses had an overall mean of 3.15, standard deviation was 1.21; in the economic aspect, mean was 3.36, standard deviation was 1.23; in the social aspect, mean was 3.13, and standard deviation was 1.20; in the working environment aspect, mean was 3.11, standard deviation was 1.20; in the family side, mean was 3.01, standard deviation was 1.24; and 2) guidelines for solving problems and preventing drug offenses consisted of 9 steps, namely surveying and analyzing the problem, asking for opinions, setting policies, creating understanding, planning operations, developing personnel, organizing preventive activities and maintain standards and continuous audits.
