The Development of Information Systems for Administrators of Vocational Institutions under the Office of Vocational Education Commission

Abstract
The objectives of this research article were 1) to study the need for information technology; 2) to develop information systems; 3) to assess satisfaction with using the system; and 4) to prepare information system manuals. It was a research and development. The sample group used in the research were 297 administrators of vocational institutes under the Office of the Vocational Education Commission selected by multi-stage selection and 9 experts by purposive sampling. The research tool was the satisfaction questionnaire and interview forms. Statistics used were frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation and content analysis. The results of the research were as follows: 1) the need for information use consisted of the results of the study of the need for information use for administrators of vocational institutes under the Office of the Vocational Education Commission, namely academic department, resource management department, department of planning and cooperation and student affairs department; 2) result of information system development for administrators of vocational institutes under the Office of the Vocational Education Commission. In this research, the researcher developed an information system for administrators through a web browser; 3) satisfaction with the use of information systems for administrators of vocational institutes under the Office of the Vocational Education Commission found that users were satisfied with this developed system overall at the highest level ( = 4.82, S.D. = 0.39), ease of use (
= 4.87, S.D.= 0.33), followed by efficiency (
= 4.85, S.D.= 0.37), security (
= 4.84, S.D.= 0.37), respectively. The least satisfactory service was the aspect that met the needs and the aspect of ability to work according to their duties (
= 4.78, S.D.= 0.43); and 4) the results of the preparation of the information system manual for vocational institute administrators under the Office of the Vocational Education Commission consisted of starting to use the system/ working procedures, to create and save data reports of general usage details.
