Huai Kha Khaeng Natural World Heritage: Development of Learning Resource for Conservation of the Uthai Thani Province Area

Abstract

The objectives of this research article were 1) to study the Huai Kha Khaeng Natural World Heritage: Development of a Learning Resource for area conservation; 2) to develop a Huai Kha Khaeng Natural World Heritage Learning Resource for area conservation; and 3) to propose guidelines for creating awareness in developing a learning resource for the conservation of the area around the Huai Kha Khaeng Natural World Heritage in Uthai Thani Province. This was a qualitative research using interviewing with 21 people, holding focus groups of 11 people, and conducting action research by organizing activities, organizing forums for knowledge exchange, and activities to create a process for creating awareness in the conservation of natural resources in each area and analyzing the data. The research results found that 1) the study of the development of a learning resource for the conservation of 3 communities showed a biodiversity of local resources, including natural forests and wildlife, which were still abundant through a process of participation between the government and the community by instilling awareness in conservation through various activities and projects; 2) developing the Huai Kha Khaeng natural world heritage learning resource for area conservation was a process of working between communities, government agencies, and networks by establishing a joint working group, exchanging knowledge among networks to create opportunities, increase potential, and promote self-development and social development. The main goals were learning, adaptation, and inheritance for local community development; 3) proposing guidelines for creating awareness in developing the area conservation learning resource by instilling awareness in the community to recognize the value and benefits of the community, which will make people in the community responsible for society, determined, and dedicated to environmental conservation, with a common goal for the benefit of the community, society, and the environment.
