Factors Affecting Achievement Motivation in Choosing to Continue Studies of Diploma Students at Phichit Community College, Institute of Community Colleges

Abstract
The purposes of this research article were 1) to study the factors affecting achievement motivation; 2) to study the relationship of the factors affecting achievement motivation; and 3) to create a prediction equation for achievement motivation in choosing to continue studies of diploma students at Phichit Community College, Institute of Community Colleges. The population was 253 students during the academic year 2022-2023. The sample group consisted of 155 people, which were obtained by stratified random sampling. The instrument used was a 5-level rating scale questionnaire with a reliability of .917 for the whole version. Online data collection was done via Google Form. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, namely frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and inferential statistics as a correlation coefficient analysis and a multi-step multiple regression analysis. The research results found that 1) the factors affecting achievement motivation in choosing to continue studies in terms of curriculum and educational management, being a professional teacher aspect, career development aspect, and the aspect of family expectations were seen to have a high level of influence, except for the building and environment, which was seen to have a moderate level of influence. As for the achievement motivation in choosing to continue studying, the opinions were seen to be at a high level; 2) the relationship between factors affecting achievement motivation in choosing to continue in career development, buildings, environment and achievement motivation had a statistically significant relationship at the .01 level; 3) in terms of the prediction equation for the achievement motivation in choosing to continue studies of diploma students at Phichit Community College, Institute of Community Colleges, the factors of career development (X3), the factors of building and environment (X5), and the factors of professional teacher (X2) influenced the achievement motivation (y) with a cumulative coefficient of all 3 factors combined equal to .413 and could predict together 17.10 percent. The prediction equation can be written as follows:
