SCHOOL ADMINISTRATORS ROLES IN THE THAILAND 4.0 ERA TO PROMOTE MORALS AND ETHICS FOR STUDENTS UNDER SURATTHANI PRIMARY EDUCATIONAL SERVICE AREA OFFICE 3

Abstract

The study aimed  1) to study roles of school administrators in Thailand 4.0 in promoting virtue and ethical behavior of students under Suratthani Primary Educational Service Area Office 3, 2) to compare the role of school administrators in Thailand 4.0 in promoting virtue and ethical behavior of students classified according to level of education and work experience, and 3) to propose a guideline the roles of school administrators in Thailand 4.0 in promoting virtue and ethical behavior of students  The study employed mixed methods research. The sample group used in this research was 113 school directors in schools under the Surat Thani Educational Service Area Office 3, and academic year 2018. The research instrument used for data collection was a questionnaire with a reliability of 0.955. Data were analyzed by using a computer program for social science research. The statistics used for data analysis were frequency, percentage, standard deviation, One-Way-ANOVA, (F-test), testing the differences of the mean by pairs with LSD (Least Significant Different), and an interview concerning the roles of school administrators in Thailand 4.0 in promoting students’ virtue and ethical behavior.

The findings were as follows:

• Regarding school administrators in the Surat Thani Primary Educational Service Area 3, overall, 5 aspects were at a high level. When each aspect was separately considered, it was found that the highest mean was in administration and supervision, followed by learning and teaching management, environment management, moral virtue, and ethical behavior measurement and evaluation, while the lowest mean was found in organizing student activities.


• The comparison of the administrators' role in Thailand 0 in promoting virtue and ethical behavior of students under the Surat Thani Primary Educational Service Area Office 3, classified by educational level showed that the level of the role of school administrators with different educational level and different work experience in Thailand age 4.0 in promoting virtue and ethical behavior of students, in general, was not different.

Guidelines to promote the roles of school administrators in Thailand 4.0 in promoting virtue and ethical behavior of students were as follows : There should be a survey of the problems in the school, the arrangement of a beautiful and clean environment, the management of teaching and learning integrated with morals and ethics with all groups of learning,  moral, and ethical training for teachers. It is vital to be a good model for school administrators and teachers to enhance mortality and ethics among students with the participation of temples and communities. Besides, finally, personnel must be evaluated for good behavior and benevolence towards pupils
