Management of Scouts-Girl Scouts Activities for Enhancing Learner Characteristics at Buddhalilabankhan Educational Network Center 9 under Nakhon Si Thammarat Primary Educational Service Area Office 2

Abstract

The objectives of this research were 1) to study the conditions of management in scouts-girl scouts’ activities, 2) to investigate the administration of boy scouts and girl scouts’ activities to create characteristics of learners, and 3) to propose guidelines to manage the scouts-girl scouts’ activities for enhancing the characteristics of learners in the Educational Network Center at 9 Buddhalilabangkhan Office of Nakhon Si Thammarat Primary Educational Service Area 2. The research methodology used was a qualitative research with important information provided by interviews from 14 participants, 3 specialists and 8 experts in group discussions. The research tools used were In-depth interview, expert interview, and group discussion.

         The findings were as follows:

• Regarding conditions of activity management in scouts and girl scouts for curriculum in enhancing learner characteristics, the schools issued an official letter and assigned tasks and courses with activity plans, activity management of the scouts - girl scouts. The school committee was appointed for curriculum development to analyze curriculum to be used to arrange the learning process in different stages along with the guidelines for scouts’ activities based on the curriculum and activity plan assignment. The division of theoretical and practical activities would be done by measuring and evaluating the activities according to the course after the activity has been completed by observation and testing.


• The management of scouts–girl-scouts activities can be done by utilizing results from the study to develop and use it as a basis for determining the direction of activities in the same direction. The 3-stepmanagement process consists of meetings, appointing committee for curriculum development, curriculum analysis of the department of co-administration and instructors. There are also issuing orders, assignments and responsibilities to personnel. Teachers were also assigned to create the lesson plans according to the curriculum which were based on the types of cub scouts and scout common. Training and study of the curriculum in detail were provided for staff and they could apply knowledge obtained in organizing learning in systematic process and there are supervision, monitoring, implementation, measurement and evaluation according to indicators.


• In guidelines for managing the boy scouts - girl scouts’ activities, it was found that the management was conducted based on actual assessment, actual performance, formulating evaluation criteria, behavior conversation etc.
