Development of Ethical Characteristics of Thai Public Officials

Abstract

This article titled “Development of Ethical Characteristics of Thai Public Officials” includes the following objectives: to review literature, concepts, theories that explain the ethical characteristics of Thai public officials that need to have knowledge, morality and dignity that will enhance their image to be trustworthy. In addition, the characteristics need to be related to appropriate behavior in self-managing, people-managing and task-managing. As for the ethical development of Thai public officials, development guidelines from ethics in Buddhism, Royal Speech and ethical values in consistent with the constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand have been applied. For ethical development procedures, it has applied internal and external development processes. Internal development is based on stimulating others to self-examine and behave appropriate characteristics. As for external development, it is based on appropriate environments including good location and atmosphere providing convenience and suitability for ethical development of Thai public officials.
