The Result of Problem-based Management to Develop Problem Solving of Kindergarten 2 Students in Anubanmukdahan School, Mudahan Provinc

Abstract

The objectives of this research were to study and compare problem solving ability of kindergarten 2, before and after experience management.  The sample included 30 kindergarten 2, drawn by using Simple Random Sampling. The research tools included a 24 lesson plans, covering 8 units, designed as 3 plans for each units, on using problem-based experience management to develop problem solving of kindergarten 2 students. The quality of the research tool in the aspect of the suitability was at the highest level, while the aspects of accuracy, congruency, and feasibility were ranked from the lowest to the highest. The evaluation instrument was a 12 items of ability test on problem solving for kindergarten 2 students, with the congruency index between 0.67-1.00; difficulty values between 0.33-0.92, discrimination values 0.23-0.92, and reliability of .82. The statistics included Percentage, Mean, Standard Deviation, t-test for One Sample and t-test for Dependent Sample. The findings were as follow: 1) The result of learning activity management using problem-based learning to develop kindergarten 2 students on problem solving revealed that before using the activities, the 100 percent of students’ ability on problem solving did not pass the 60 percent standard criteria, considered as low, which was lower than the standard of 60 percent of total score. After using the activities, it showed that 100 percent of students were above the standard of 60 percent of total score, which was considered at the moderate level.
2) The result of kindergarten 2 students’ ability of solving problems found that the ability of solving problems after using the activities was higher than before.
