PARTICIPATION OF PARENTS AND ACADEMIC ADMINISTRATION QUALITY OF SCHOOLS UNDER NAKHON SI THAMMARAT PRIMARY EDUCATIONAL SERVICE AREA OFFICE 4

Abstract

The objectives of this research included: 1) to study the participation of parents; 2) to explore the quality of academic administration; and 3) to investigate relationship between participation of parents and academic administration quality of the schools under the Nakhon Si Thammarat Primary Educational Service Area Office 4. It was a quantitative research. The samples used in the research were 297 administrators and teachers under the Nakhon Si Thammarat Primary Educational Service Area Office 4 in academic year 2020. The instruments used in this research were questionnaires and in-depth interviews. The statistics used in the analysis included frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation. The results of this research were as follows. 1) The overall participation of parents was at a high level. When it was considered by aspect, it was found as the followings. The participation of parents was at the highest level including participation in choosing and proposing guidelines for decision-making, followed by participation in following-up, monitoring and benefiting, and with the lowest mean in being the owner of the public policy respectively. 2) The overall academic administration quality of the schools was at a high level. When it was considered by aspect, it was found as the followings. Media development, learning sources and local wisdom was at the highest level, followed by educational supervision and curriculum whereas the lowest means were the academic planning and learning management in schools respectively. 3) The overall relationship between participation of parents and the academic administration quality of the schools under the Nakhon Si Thammarat Primary Educational Service Area Office 4 was positive but at low level with statistical significance at .05 and a correlation of .078.
