VOLUNTEER MIND AND THAI YOUTH DEVELOPMENT

Abstract

This academic article aims to present knowledge on volunteer mind and the Thai youth development in Thailand. Youth development is the development of students to have their qualifications including: being good, being intelligent, being responsible for the assigned works, working with perseverance, determining and achieving the specified purposes of their responsible works in times. The responsibilities also include: punctuality in group works with friends, school works, house works assigned from parents. These works must be done according to their agreement with friends, parents and teachers. However difficult or obstructive the works are, they try to find out the methods to achieve their works and activities including the solution of problems in order to achieve their works. Creating people to have a volunteer mind is of great importance to individuals, organizations, society and the nation. If the people of the nation are cultivated, promoted or developed with the following qualifications: a mind of public benefit, needless for personal gain, volunteering in taking care of common property, carefully utilizing collective property, sharing opportunities for others to use the collective property etc., there will be less exploitation, crimes, drugs addiction, selfishness or despotism. This will lead the community and society to be strengthened. The youth themselves will long lastingly be equipped with volunteer minds and further help other people in society.
