THE RESULTS OF SCIENTIFIC INQUIRY INSTRUCTION USING 7E ON OUR LOCAL SOILS OF PRATHOM SUKSA 1 STUDENTS

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to study the results of scientific inquiry instruction using 7E on Our Local Soils including: learning achievement; group work skills; satisfaction towards the instruction; and comparison of the results of  scientific inquiry instruction using 7E on Our Local Soils specially in learning achievement before and after the instruction. The samples were 17 students studying in Prathom Suksa 1. The research instruments included:  1) lesson plans of scientific inquiry instruction using 7E: 2) learning achievement tests on Our Local Soils with discrimination of reliability at .72;  3) group work assessment forms with IOC equal to 1; and 4) a questionnaire of the students’ satisfaction towards the instruction with IOC equal to 1. The statistics used in this research included percentage, mean (), standard deviation (S.D.) and dependent t-test. The findings of this research were as follows. The results of scientific inquiry instruction using 7E on Our Local Soils included: the student’s learning achievement was at a moderate level; group work skill was at a high level; students’ satisfaction towards the instruction was at the highest level; and the students had higher learning achievement after the instruction than before the instruction with statistical significance at .05 level.
