THE INTEGRATION OF BUDDHIST PRINCIPLES IN THE TEACHING OF SOCIAL STUDIES

Abstract

In the integration of the Buddhist teaching principles in the teaching methods of social studies, there are various methods but they are primarily based on building faith and wisdom. Teachers are the key persons that provide a motivating environment and teaching methods that the students have faith towards learning and practice in analytical thinking. This leads to the practice of students through the following principles: using wisdom; acting until it becomes empirical truth; focusing on teachers as true-hearted friends of students; having a good interrelationship between students and teachers; having opportunities to correctly think, express and practice; and properly using their wisdom in problem-solving.
