THE EFFECT LEARNING EXPERIENCES STORY TELLING WITH BIG BOOK FOR PROMOTING BASIC MATHEMATIC ABILITY OF KINDERGARTEN

Abstract

Story Telling with big book statistically significant at .01 level. The objective of this research is to 1) study the result of the implement of Story Telling with big book  for Promoting Basic Mathematic Ability of Kindergarten 2) compare basic mathematic  ability of early childhood students before and after the implementation of Story Telling with big book. The sample included 15 students, ages 4-5 years old, during  the year’s  second term at the Pre-Primary School at Ban Nong Song Hong Sap Charoen, Thai Charoen District, Yasothon Province. The school was under the supervision  of Yasothon Primary Educational Service Area Office 2, in the year 2563 B.E. The experiment was conducted in a period of 4 weeks, from Monday thesday Wednesday, between 09.20 – 10.00 a.m. The research tools were 12 lessons and The statistics included mean, standard deviation and t-test (dependent-samples t-test analysis) The research findings were as follow: The Basic Mathematic Ability of Kindergarten  by implementing Story Telling with big book was at the high level, as a whole and in each aspects and after the implement of the activities found to be higher than before the implementation Story Telling with big book statistically significant at .01 level.
