ANALYSIS OF BACKGROUND FACTORS OF FAMILY AND CAREGIVERS AFFECTING LIFE SKILLS DEVELOPMENT OF EARLY CHILDHOOD CHILDREN IN SISAKET PROVINCE

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to analyze family background factors and the caregivers affecting the life skills development of early childhood children in Sisaket Province. The sample group in the research was father or mother or guardian who takes care of preschool children aged 3-5 years and who is studying in a child development center under the local government organization in the area of ​​Sisaket Province. The sample size was determined using the Yamane formula (1967) at the significance level of .05 for 392 subjects, multistage random sampling. The research tools are the rating scale questionnaire had the discriminating power of 0.27 – 0.70 and the confidence value of 0.86. The data were analyzed by statistical t-test and F-test. The results showed that factors affecting life skills development of early childhood children with statistical significance at the .05 level consisted of 1) family background factors including the location of the family and the sufficiency of income 2) Factors related to the caregivers are as follows: parents' marital status, the age of the nanny, the level of education of the nanny, the occupation of the nurturer and time for parenting.
