AN ANALYSIS OF BUDDHIST ART VALUES APPEARED IN BUDDHA STATUES IN THE CHIAN YAI BASIN, NAKHON SI THAMMARAT PROVINCE

Abstract
The objectives of this research included: 1) to study the concepts of Buddhist arts; 2) to study Buddhist arts appearing In Buddha statues in Chian Yai Basin, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province; and 3) to analyze Buddhist art values appearing In Buddha statues in Chian Yai Basin, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province. It was a qualitative research focusing on documentary research and in-depth interview. The information was concluded and descriptively presented. The findings of this research were as follows. Regarding the Buddhist art values appearing in Buddha statue in Chian Yai Basin, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, the arts of Buddha statues were found as follows: The Buddhist arts appeared in Wat Maejawuhua Buddha statue were delicate and beautiful. It was a deep-felt art work reflecting love, sympathy and unity among worshipers. It became the culture and tradition that continuously practiced as the identity and the significance of society up to present; The Buddhist arts appeared in Wat Dang Buddha statue were beautiful with pure arts that made the worshippers feel spiritually happy and grateful and the worshipping became a tradition inherited from ancestors up to present. It reflected the identity for a memory of good deed for an auspicious living life; The Buddhist arts appeared in Wat Phrabuddhapada Buddha statue, it was built in Sukhothai period as a proxy of the Lord Buddha. It was an art concealed with Dhamma puzzles for Buddha worshiping and convincing the Buddhists to follow Dhamma principles in Buddhism.
