MANAGEMENT STRATEGIES FOR QUALITY SURVIVAL OF PRIVATE KINDERGARTENS UNDER OFFICE OF THE PRIVATE EDUCATION COMMISSION

Abstract

 The purposes of research were 1) to study the context of kindergarten of the Private Education Commission in the management of educational institutions to survive with quality 2) to study strategies for the management of quality survival of kindergartens of the Private Education Commission. This research uses a multi-case qualitative research method that consists of interviews. and study from documents. The key informants are representatives of school director and representatives of teachers from kindergartens school of the Private Education Commission of 3 schools to share their experiences. The researcher chose to study in Rat Burana District Bangkok. The selection criteria are number of students who studying in the school was the same or did not decrease, and the assessment results from the Office for Accreditation and Quality Assessment were an excellent level. The results showed that context of the kindergarten is facing competition from lower birth rate, changes of policy of Ministry of Education affecting private schools to compete with public schools, including the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic situation. Management strategies of schools for quality survival can be divided into 4 main strategies which are 1) PDCA quality cycle strategy 2) human resource development strategy 3) Strategies for adapting to the situation and 4) Service-minded strategy all of which can be used as guidelines for kindergarten schools to survive in the midst of increasing competition.
