CODING PROGRAM FOR PROBLEM SOLVING IN YOUNG CHILDREN

Abstract

The purposes of this experimental research were 1) to create the Computing Science Program on problem-solving skills for preschool students and 2) to study the results of a pre-test and post-test comparison of Computing Science Program on problem-solving skills for preschool students. The population and sample consisted of 55 early childhood students who were male-female, studying in kindergarten grade 2-3 at Wat Mahaeyong School, Nakhonluang District, Phra Nakhon Sri Ayutthaya Province, in the academic year 2022, selected by using a purposive sampling technique. The research instrument consisted of 1) 8 programs for Computing Science Program on problem-solving skills to preschool students and 2) pre-test and post-test on problem-solving skills. The data was analyzed using Independen t-test.The results showed that. 1) The Computing Science Programs had efficiency of 80.91/81.09. 2) Early childhood students who received the Computing Science Programs had higher average scores on problem-solving skills in the post-experimental period than in the pre-experimental period at .01 level.
