SCHOOL MANAGEMENT TOWARDS EXCELLENCE OF INTERNATIONAL STANDARD SCHOOLS TO PROMOTE GLOBAL CITIZENSHIP IN THE DOI SUTHEP INTERDISCIPLINARY GROUP UNDER THE CHIANG MAI SECONDARY EDUCATIONAL SERVICE AREA OFFICE

Abstract

School management towards excellence of international standard schools to promote global citizenship in the Doi Suthep Interdisciplinary Group under the Chiang Mai Secondary Educational Service Area Office aimed to study school management towards excellence and propose guidelines on school management towards excellence of international standard schools to promote global citizenship in the Doi Suthep Interdisciplinary Group under the Chiang Mai Secondary Educational Service Area Office. The total population was 569 people. The samples were 226 people consisted of 8 school administrators and 218 teachers by simple randomization and 9 qualified interviewers by means of specific selection. The research tools were questionnaires and interview forms. The statistics used in the data analysis included the mean, standard deviation, and content analysis.

          The results showed that the school management towards excellence of international standard schools to promote global citizenship in the Doi Suthep Interdisciplinary Group under the Chiang Mai Secondary Educational Service Area Office was overall at a high level. When considering each aspect, it was found that the focus on learners, stakeholders, and personnel were at the highest level. And in terms of organizational leadership, measurement, analysis, results, implementation, management, implementation process, and strategic planning were at a high level, respectively.

          Guidelines for school management towards excellence of international standard schools to promote global citizenship in the Doi Suthep Interdisciplinary Group under the Chiang Mai Secondary Educational Service Area Office were as follows; There should be a clear strategic plan to determine the direction of the school. The organization leader must have a broad vision and be a role model in all aspects. The quality of learners should be promoted as a priority to improve the achievement in academic excellence, language skills, creativity and collective responsibility. They should focus on the development of personnel according to their abilities to contribute to the results of effective school operations. The organization should be managed by a quality system. Personnel should be knowledgeable, competent, and effective management. Learners should have comprehensive knowledge, be able to help communities, society and the environment to develop sustainably and be a global citizen in the complete 21st Century
