THE IMPORTANCE OF PERSONAL FACTORS AND THE MARKETING COMPONENTS IN BUYING THE ORGANIC FERTILIZER BRANDED PDI

Abstract
The objectives of this research included: 1) To study the importance of personal factors and the marketing components in buying the organic fertilizers branded PDI of the farmers in Bajiangcharoensuk District, Champasak Province, Lao PDR; 2) To compare personal factors focusing on marketing components in buying the organic fertilizers branded PDI of the farmers in Bajiangcharoensuk District, Champasak Province, Lao PDR as classified by sex, age, marital status, education and incomes. The samples used in the study were 380 farmers farming in Bajiangcharoensuk District, Champasak Province. The research instrument was a questionnaire. Statistics used in data analysis were percentage, means, standard deviation, t-test and F-test. The research findings were as follows. 1. The overall importance of personal factors and the marketing components in buying the organic fertilizers branded PDI of the farmers in Bajiangcharoensuk District, Champasak Province, Lao PDR was at a high level. As regards by aspect, it was found that all aspects were at a high level that could be chronologically arranged from the highest to the lowest as the followings: prices, products, distribution channels, and marketing promotion. 2. Considering personal factors of farmers with different age in buying the organic fertilizers branded PDI, it was found that the importance of products and distribution channels and in overall are different with statistical significance at .01. The farmers held a different view on prices at a statistical significance of 0.5. However, they had no different view on other aspects. The farmers with different incomes had a different effect on buying the organic fertilizer branded PDI. In products, prices and distribution channels and overall aspect had different opinions with statistical significance at .01 while the farmers who had different sex, marital status, education and incomes had no effect on buying the organic fertilizer branded PDI.
