IMPROVEMENT OF ENGLISH PRONUNCIATION EFFICIENCY THROUGH THE USE OF APPLICATION

Abstract

This article aims to study problems on English pronunciation and the trends on the use of application for improving English pronunciation efficiency in order to propose: concepts and theories of teaching and learning in accordance with learning in the 21^st century; approaches in teaching and learning activities; application used in pronunciation; phonetic symbols; and online learning sources for both the lecturers and learners. This is to enhance teaching and learning efficiency by using applications in the 21^st century as media that information technology is essential in solving problems of English pronunciation through phonetic symbols. Practicing English pronunciation and quality life skills in the 21st century cultural setting can be considered "Survival Skills" which are complex and essential that teachers have the knowledge and ability in using applications in order to apply them in teaching English pronunciation effectively as well as improving the quality of teaching and learning in this era to be able to keep up with the rapidly changing social context.
