POLITICAL PARTICIPATION OF THE PEOPLE IN ELECTING MEMBERS OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES IN SISAKET PROVINCE AFTER PROMULGATING THE CONSTITUTION OF THE KINGDOM OF THAILAND B.E.2560

Abstract

The objective of this study was to study the level of political participation of the people in electing members of the House of Representatives of the people in Sisaket Province after promulgating the Constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand B.E. 2560. The samples used in this research were 398 people who had the rights to vote in electing members of the House of Representatives in Sisaket Province (Yamane, 1973: 125) by using a simple random sampling method. Online Platform Questionnaires were used for inquiring about the political participation of the people in electing the House of Representatives. It was additionally developed by Pornpanot Pokkrong (2006).  This study was implemented in 2020 by using a statistical package. The data were analyzed and characterized with descriptive statistics using percentage, average () and standard deviation. The results of the study were as follows. Most of the sample group were females aged between 41-50 years with education background in primary education. They are farmers with monthly income less than 10,000 baht or 6,535.20 baht in average. It was found that the level of people’s participation in electing members of the House of Representatives was at a moderate level. They have been willing to use their rights to vote in every local and national election.
