รูปแบบในการปฏิเสธคำเชิญ: ความแตกต่างข้ามวัฒนธรรมในการปฏิเสธของชาวเกาหลีและชาวไทย

บทคัดย่อ
งานวิจัยนี้มุ่งเน้นศึกษากลยุทธ์การปฏิเสธและรูปแบบของการปฏิเสธคำเชิญโดยผู้ใช้ภาษาเกาหลีที่เป็นเจ้าของภาษาและผู้ใช้ภาษาไทยที่เป็นเจ้าของภาษา รวมถึงผลกระทบที่ลำดับชั้นอำนาจทางสังคมและระยะห่างทางสังคมอาจมีต่อการปฏิเสธ กลุ่มตัวอย่างเป็นผู้ใช้ภาษาเกาหลีที่เป็นเจ้าของภาษาและผู้ใช้ภาษาไทยที่เป็นเจ้าของภาษา กลุ่มละหกสิบคน โดยผู้เข้าร่วมงานวิจัยตอบแบบสอบถามชนิดเติมเต็มบทสนทนา จำนวน 6 สถานการณ์โดยใช้ภาษาแรกของผู้เข้าร่วม (ภาษาเกาหลีและภาษาไทย) ผลการวิจัยพบว่าผู้ใช้ที่เป็นเจ้าของภาษาทั้งสองกลุ่ม ใช้กลยุทธ์การปฏิเสธโดยอ้อมมากที่สุดในการปฏิเสธคำเชิญ ในแง่ของรูปแบบในการปฏิเสธ กลยุทธ์การปฏิเสธจะแบ่งออกเป็นส่วนหลัก (H) และส่วนสนับสนุน (S) จากการวิเคราะห์พบว่า รูปแบบการปฏิเสธของผู้ใช้ที่เป็นเจ้าของภาษาทั้งสองกลุ่มแตกต่างกัน ผู้ใช้ที่เป็นเจ้าของภาษาเกาหลีปฏิเสธ โดยเริ่มต้นด้วยส่วนสนับสนุนมากขึ้นเมื่อระดับของอำนาจทางสังคมของผู้ฟังสูงขึ้น ในทางกลับกันรูปแบบการปฏิเสธโดยผู้ใช้ที่เป็นเจ้าของภาษาไทย จะเปลี่ยนไปเมื่อความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างคู่สนทนาเปลี่ยนจากห่างเหินเป็นใกล้ชิด ผู้ใช้ที่เป็นเจ้าของภาษาไทยมักพูดตรงมากขึ้นกับผู้ฟังที่พวกเขาคิดว่าสนิทสนมด้วย ด้วยการเริ่มต้นการปฏิเสธด้วยส่วนหลัก (H) บ่อยกว่า โดยไม่คำนึงถึงระดับอำนาจทางสังคมของผู้ฟัง
