An Analytical Study Of Phradhatu Yakhu Worship That Affects To Lifestyle Of Nong Paen Nationals Sub-District Kamalasai District Kalasin Province

Abstract

The objectives of this research were: 1) to study the concepts and teachings related to the worship of Cetiya in Buddhism; 2) to study the worship of Ya-Khu Cetiya of people in Nong Paen Sub-district, Kamalasai district, Kalasin province; 3) to analyze the worship of Ya-Khu Cetiya affecting the ways of life of people in Nong Paen Sub-district. This study was the qualitative research emphasizing studying the documents and interviews.
The research results were as follows:
1. The concepts and teachings about the worship of Cetiya in Buddhism related to reverence, worship, and respect for the person who should be respected or respected things with offerings such as flowers, incense, candles. This is expressed by the behavior of the devotee. There are two kinds of worship: āmissapūjā, material worship and paṭipattipūjā, practical worship.
2. The worship of the Ya-Khu Cetiya of the people in Nong Paen Sub-district is a sacrifice with belief in making merit according to Buddhism. The worship must be based on the principles: precepts, meditation and wisdom. The people of the community have the dhammas in mind as a place of remembrance, respect one another, support one another, and have unity and ethics, practice dharma, regularly make merits, practice dhammas in the Buddhist important days and help one another.
3. The worship of Ya-Khu Cetiya had an effect on the lives of people in NongPaen Sub-district, which can be analyzed in five areas: belief, it is a matter of demerit, merit, punishment, believing in kamma, consequences of actions whether good or bad; economic aspect, it has been promoted as a tourist site; family, it raises unity and warmth within the family, as evidenced by the respect expression for the elders or benefactors; society, there are generosity, harmony at work and mutual motivation; Buddhism, people in Nong Paen Sub-district worship the Ya-Khu Cetiya as their expression of faith in the Triple Gem: Buddha, Dhamma and Sangha.
