Abstract

Academics from various disciplines share an interest in social movements. They try to comprehend movements’ emergence, rise and fall and outcomes through a variety of approaches and techniques. Their different perspectives have contributed to development of theory of social movements. From the late 1960s social movements expanded enormously. It led to the proliferation of social movement studies covering a wide array of issues. The study of social movements can divide into structural approach and cultural approach. This article explores the social movement framing perspective, an important perspective within cultural approach.
