Academic Leadership of Private School Administrators of Khon Kaen Provincial Education Office

The aims of this research were to study and compare the academic leadership of the private school administrators working under Khon Kaen Provincial Education Office and to find the ways to promote and develop such leadership of the administrators, classified by their personal factors: position, educational background and work experience. This study was carried out by means of quantitative research using the survey questionnaire with 345 samples including school administrators and teachers in KhonKaen Provincial Education Office. The sample size was determined based on Krejcie & Morgan method, stratified random sampling, simple random sampling. In all sub-studied sample groups, the tools used in this research were the rating scale questionnaires with equal validity. The data were calculated by the computer program to find the following statistics used in the analysis: Frequency, Percentage, Mean, Standard Deviation, t-test (Independent samples), F-test (One Way ANOVA).
The results were as follows:
1. The academic leadership of the private education administrators in KhonKaen Provincial Education Office in overall and in each aspect; behaviors were rated at the highest level. The aspect that has the highest level of practice is the vision of educational management to keep up with the changes, followed by the potential of self-reliance in academic development respectively and the aspect with the least level of practice is leadership in initiating the use of innovation for teaching and learning.
2. A comparison of the academic leadership of private school administrators under the KhonKaen Provincial Education Office classified by position, educational background and work experience in general, the level of practice is not statistically different.
3. The guidelines for promoting the academic leadership of the private school administrators under the KhonKaen Provincial Education Office are that school administrators should propose operational guidelines in response to the policies of the Ministry of Education; executives should have initiative and develop innovation to use in management. Personnel should have new methods for their work.
