The Management Model of Buddhist Citizen Council, Khon Kaen Province

The objectives of this research were: 1) to study the policy, processes and activities of Khon Kaen city development; 2) to develop the management model of the Buddhist Citizen Council in Khon Kaen province; 3) to propose strategies and a Buddhist Citizen Council management model in Khon Kaen province. This study was a qualitative research and its research tools included in-depth interviews of 30 key informants.
The obtained data were analyzed by descriptive method.
The research results were as follows:
1. The study the policy, processes and activities of Khon Kaen city development found that the development policy is the implementation principles, which consist of vision, mission and strategy and the development process is a means of driving the public sector to develop without relying on the government. The development activities includes joint development of the mass transit system and the basic system of each hospital to be linked together and the data center collection center project of Khon Kaen province.
2. Based on the study of the development of a Buddhist Citizen Council management model in Khon Kaen, it was found that the Citizen Council worked together by using Buddhist principles with volunteer spirit, good governance in organizing public forums which let people express their opinions and listen to opinions from the people, jointly plan and make a decision, create consultation and good friendship in collaboration of all parties.
3. In regards to the strategies and a Buddhist Citizen Council management model in Khon Kaen province, it was found that there are five management strategies: 1) green and clean city; 2) well-being city with good and safe environment; 3) good governance city; 4) modern, balanced and sustainable city; 5) democratic city. There are five management models: 1) collaboration; 2) expressing opinions and suggestions; 3) collaborative learning; 4) building community's wisdom; 5) power decentralization to people.
