The Level of Opinions Related to Morality, Ethics and the Opinions of Beingcultivated in the Moral Education of Students at a School in Bangkok

This Study aims to study student opinions on morals/ ethics and morals/ ethics cultivation of a school in Bangkok Metropolis. The population was 240 students of a school in Bangkok Metropolis. The data collection tool was questionnaire. By Statistical Package to the Social Science (SPSS), the data analysis covered percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test and Chi-Square at the significant level of 0.05.
The study result was summarized as the following
Most of the student aged 12-16 years, studied in Secondary Year 1-6. Their parents were merchants/ business owners, company employees, government employees and had average income of 10,000-20,000 Baht per month. The overall opinions of the students on morals/ ethics cultivation by themselves, family, school, religious institute were at the high level (3.84). The overall opinions of the students on morals/ ethics in terms of discipline, honesty, gratitude, kindness, saving, harmony, volunteer spirit, were at the high level (4.01).
From comparison of general information (age, educational level, parent occupation, parent monthly income) and opinions on morals/ ethics cultivation and morals/ ethics level, it was found that the students of different ages, educational levels, parent occupations had indifferent opinions on morals/ ethics cultivation and morals/ ethics level at the significant level.
From the study, a school should enhance development of courses and activities on learning morals/ ethics. To ensure more student participation, self development of the students i.e. reading books, textbooks, library media and activities should be supported. Saving habits should be promoted by saving and efficient use of resources by projects of a school co-operative.
