Abstract

This academic article aims to show the perspective on management of Tong Chom Market that it is social domination through consumption culture by rebranding the existing market via the government mechanism and using postmodernism of Frederic Jameson as the tool of criticizing Tong Chom Market through social important characteristics and modernism of Frederic Jameson in five aspects such as perception of contents being less important than what people see, mixed culture, thinking of the missing things in the present time by thinking of the past, collapse of meaning chain, reproduction of technology and meaning, and change of man-made areas through Tong Chom Market.
