Abstract

The objectives of this research are; 1) to study potential and readiness of natural tourism locations and culture resources of Nakhon Phanom Province, 2) to develop potential and readiness of natural tourism locations and culture resources of Nakhon Phanom Province and 3) to formulate an integrated tourism strategy of Nakhon Phanom Province towards sustainable development. The research is qualitative research. The key informants are; 1 The Abbot of Phrathartphanomwaramaha wihan temple, 2 The Leader of Thai Renu Nakhon ethnic group, 3. The Chairman of the Nakhon Phanom Provincial Cultural Council,4 Head of Nakhon Phanom Provincial Cultural Office, 5 Mayor of Nakhon Phanom, 6 Mr. Phichai Senchanthichai, 7 Head of Phu Langka National Park and, 8 the population of 6 people living in the tourist attractions. The research tool was interview. Data were analyzed by interviewing, questioning, observing and participating.
The research results were as follows:
1. Nakhon Phanom Province has potential and readiness of natural tourism location and culture resources as there are various historical and cultural attractions where are able to attract tourists such as That Phanom pagoda, Naga Landmark which named “Paya Sri Satta Nakarat”, Phulangka national park, Two Coloved River, Phu Thai Renu Nakhon Ethnic Group and the Illuminated Boat Festival of Nakhon Phanom Province.
2. The potential and readiness of natural and coltural attractions in Nakhon Phanom Province more found it is ready to welcome tourists with and impressive, fun, safe and happy exponience.
3. The integrated tourism strategy of Nakhon Phanom Province towards sustainable development has set the vision for a livable city, an economic gateway to ASEAN and Southern China by focusing on improving the quality of tourist attractions, products, services and all form of tourism activities to be impressed and happy.
