The Content Analysis of the Twelfth Night in accordance with the Five Precepts in Buddhism

Abstract

The objectives of this research were 1) to analyze the meaning of language structure used in the dialogue of The Twelfth Night in accordance with the five precepts in Buddhism and 2) to classify language structure used in the dialogue of The Twelfth Night in accordance with the five precepts in Buddhism. The instrument of this research was the tables that described words, phrases, sentences as well as paragraphs. This research was a documentary research.
The result of this research as follows:
1. The language structures used in the book had the meaning conformed to the number 4 and 5 of the five precepts in Buddhism.
2. There were 2 words, 8 phrases, 16 sentences and 19 paragraphs that conformed to the five precepts in Buddhism. The researcher concluded the knowledge assets from this study that the analysis of characters acting through their bodies and speeches in words, phrases, sentences and paragraphs in Twelfth Night was based on the Five Precepts in Buddhism.
