The Successful Management of a Buddhist Sunday Center: A Case Study of the Buddhist Sunday Center at Wat Mongkhon Wararam, Thalang District, Phuket Province

Abstract

The purposes of this research are: 1) to study the Effective Management for the Buddhist Sunday Center, Manglawararam Temple, and 2) to study the Management Process of Buddhist Sunday Center, Manglawararam Temple. A case study was Buddhist Sunday Center, Manglawararam Temple, Thalang District, Phuket Province. This research is Qualitative Research. Key informants were a center director, a board of administrator, teachers, students, community leaders, parents and guardians totalling 25 persons. The research instruments were recording form, semi-structured Interview, focus group discussion,
analyzing content analysis and examination data quality with data triangulation.
The research result founded that:
1. Studying the Effective Management for the Buddhist Sunday Center, Manglawararam Temple, the elements of the effective management of the centers were composed of five factors as follows: 1) The environment which are preparing the center for the rapid change of the twenty-first century. And a well management of the community are supported by rules, clear policies, supportive government sectors and networks and conducting to reach the standard of education. 2) Input factors which are a clear organizational structure, strong leadership of administrator, clear vision of the administrative board, qualified teachers, standardize educational curriculum and well environment to encourage learning. 3) The procedures which are identifying effective standardized center, education management system, and evaluating the learning outcomes that supports needs of learners and communities. And also the evaluation in learning based on the participation of learners, parents and guardians. 4) The outcomes of management system which are the standardized learners, teachers based on code of ethics of teaching profession. The last, 5) The strong relationship among the center, parents, guardians and communities.
2. Studying the Management Process of Buddhist Sunday Center, Manglawararam Temple, The educational management strategies are 1) The administrative structure must be flexible, 2) The leadership must be integrated, 3) The learner should be educated and developed the essential skills for the globalization, 4) Learning sources must adiquated and reasonable,  5) Teachers should be more encouraged to use of technology and information technology to support effective learning and teaching, 6) The relationship between the center and networks must be widely covered.
