Management Efficiency of the Saving Group for Production in Ban Tako Subdistrict, Huai Rat District in Buriram Province

Abstract

This research aimed to: 1) study the management status of savings groups for production; 2) compare the management efficiency of savings groups for production across different villages; and 3) explore recommendations for improving the management efficiency of savings groups for production. The study employed a mixed-methods approach. The sample consisted of 237 members of savings groups for production across six villages, selected through purposive sampling. Research tools included a questionnaire with a reliability coefficient of .89 and a semi-structured interview. The key informants were 12 savings group leaders and secretaries. Statistical analyses included percentage, mean, standard deviation, one-way ANOVA, and content analysis.
The results of the research found that:
1. The overall management efficiency of the savings groups for production in Ban Tako sub-district was rated at a high level ( = 3.81, S.D. = 0.26). The highest to lowest scores were as follows: organizational structure ( = 3.90, S.D. = 0.41), direction ( = 3.85, S.D. = 0.40), personnel management ( = 3.84, S.D. = 0.46), control ( = 3.82, S.D. = 0.33), and planning ( = 3.64, S.D. = 0.40).
2. A comparison of management efficiency across different villages in the Ban Tako sub-district showed no significant differences, leading to the rejection of the hypothesis.
3. Recommendations for improving management efficiency included: for planning, aligning plans with members' needs; for organizational structure, clearly defining roles and decision-making authority for each position; for personnel management, encouraging member participation in decision-making; for direction, fostering an organizational culture that promotes collaboration, effective communication, and shared responsibility; and for control, identifying and assessing potential risks in operations
