The Potential Development of Morality Teaching Monks in Phetchabun Province

Abstract

This research aimed to: 1) study the teaching skills of Buddhist monk ethics instructors in schools, 2) explore teaching techniques using creative media, and 3) investigate the development of moral school networks. This mixed-method research involved 171 Buddhist monk instructors and 32 key informants. The research tools included questionnaires and in-depth interview guides. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics such as percentage, mean, and standard deviation.
The research results were found as follows:
1. The skill of moral teaching monks in the teaching and learning process founded that they has been carried out in 4 areas : 1) Skill as a teacher in Buddhist subjects emphasizes on teaching according to course contents, 2) Skill as a teacher in Dhamma studies emphasizes on teaching and explaining, 3) Skill as a teacher in practicing meditation, mental management, and developing wisdom, emphasizing analytical and discriminatory teaching, and 4) Skill as an integrated moral teaching monk emphasizes on comprehensive teaching, with memorization, explanation, and expansion. the moral teaching monks have opinion about the role of the moral teaching monks at the highest level ( = 4.51) 
2. The teaching techniques using creative media founded that it has development with workshops by using a various applications ; such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Power Point, and Microsoft Excel. And in operation, there has been an increase in online teaching skills, too. The moral teaching monks have opinion about the teaching techniques using creative media at the highest level ( = 4.63)
3. Creation of a network of  moral schools of morality teaching monks founded that it has operated from creating network within school and then expand the network outside the school; namely, 1) creating a network within the school : they carry out movement of the network by organizing activities for connection with the identity of the schools, 2) creating a network outside the school : it is an exchange of knowledge between school and school, and 3) networking with stakeholders : it is co-operation in various activities. The moral teaching monks have opinion about creation of a network of  moral schools at the highest level ( = 4.80)
