Health Care Behaviors of Senior Citizens in Banphaeo Subdistrict, Banphaeo District, Samut Sakhon Province

The purposes of this study were 1) to study the level of elderly health care behavior in Banphaeo Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Banphaeo District, Samut Sakhon Province, and 2) to compare the elderly health care behavior in Banphaeo Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Banphaeo District, Samut Sakhon Province, classified by personal factors. This is a quantitative study. The sample group consists of individuals aged 60 and above, both male and female, living in the area of Banphaeo Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Banphaeo District, Samut Sakhon Province, with a total of 350 people selected by simple random sampling. The research instrument was a questionnaire with a reliability coefficient of 0.81. The statistics used for data analysis were frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation (S.D.). The data were analyzed using frequency distribution and percentage. t-test and F-test were used to compare variables, and one-way ANOVA was used to test for differences between variables. When differences were found, post-hoc comparisons were conducted using the Least Significant Difference (LSD).
The research results found that:
1. The overall elderly health care behavior was at a high level ( = 2.36, S.D. = 0.48). When examined by category, the hygiene behavior had the highest mean, followed by food consumption behavior, emotion management behavior, and exercise behavior, respectively.
2. Personal factors, such as age, education level, occupation, and average monthly income, significantly influenced the elderly health care behavior in Banphaeo Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Banphaeo District, Samut Sakhon Province.
