Abstract

This research aimed to: (1) examine the level of digital performance efficiency of subdistrict headmen (Kamnan) and village headmen in Mueang District, Kamphaeng Phet Province; (2) compare perceptions of digital performance efficiency based on personal factors; and (3) propose guidelines for enhancing digital performance efficiency. A mixed methods research design was employed. The quantitative phase collected data from 400 residents in Mueang District, Kamphaeng Phet Province. The sample size was determined using Taro Yamane’s formula at a 95% confidence level with a margin of error of .05, and participants were proportionally distributed across 16 subdistricts. The research instrument was a five-point Likert-scale questionnaire, with content validity verified (IOC = 0.60–1.00) and a reliability coefficient of .899. Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The qualitative phase involved in-depth interviews with eight key informants and was analyzed using content and thematic analysis.
The findings revealed that:
1. The overall level of digital performance efficiency was moderate. All dimensions were at a moderate level, with workload capacity ranking the highest, followed by attitudes toward digital technology, cost-effectiveness of resources, and digital knowledge.
2. Overall, no statistically significant differences were found in perceptions of digital performance efficiency based on personal factors, although differences were identified in certain specific dimensions.
3. Guidelines for improvement should emphasize continuous development of digital knowledge and skills, promotion of technology application in practical tasks, enhancement of technological infrastructure and information systems, and establishment of shared operational standards to improve speed, accuracy, and quality of public service delivery at the local level.
