Needs and Guidelines for Academic Administration Development to Enhance Academic Achievement in Educational Institutions under the Kalasin Primary Educational Service Area Office 1

This research aimed to: 1) examine the current conditions, desirable conditions, and priority needs of academic administration for enhancing students’ academic achievement in educational institutions; and 2) investigate guidelines for developing academic administration to improve students’ academic achievement. This study employed a quantitative research design. The sample consisted of 309 school administrators and teachers, determined using Taro Yamane’s formula and selected through stratified random sampling. The research instruments included questionnaires and interviews. The reliability coefficients of the questionnaire were 0.95 for the current condition and 0.94 for the desirable condition. Data were analyzed using percentage, mean, standard deviation, and the Modified Priority Needs Index (PNI modified).
The findings revealed that:
1. The overall current condition of academic administration was at a high level. The highest mean was found in educational supervision, followed by the development of media, innovation, and technology, and learning management and instructional processes, respectively. The overall desirable condition was at the highest level, with educational supervision having the highest mean, followed by the development of media, innovation, and technology, and curriculum development.
2. The overall priority needs index (PNI modified) was 0.12. The highest priority need was in learning management and instructional processes, followed by curriculum development.
3. The guidelines for developing academic administration should focus primarily on improving learning management by promoting active learning, creating supportive classroom environments, implementing assessment for learning, and enhancing teacher development through Professional Learning Community (PLC) processes in order to effectively improve students’ academic achievement.
