Abstract

This research aimed to 1) examine the current and desirable conditions and 2) investigate the priority needs for promoting Professional Learning Community (PLC) in educational institutions under the Nakhon Ratchasima Primary Educational Service Area Office 5. The study employed a descriptive research design. The sample consisted of 24 school administrators and 314 teachers, totaling 338 participants, determined using Taro Yamane’s formula at a .05 level of precision and selected through stratified random sampling. The research instrument was a five-point rating scale questionnaire with a reliability coefficient of 0.97. Data were analyzed using percentage, frequency, mean, standard deviation, and the Modified Priority Needs Index (PNI modified).
The findings revealed that:
1.The overall current condition was at a high level (equation = 3.70, S.D. = 0.56), with shared vision showing the highest mean (equation= 3.83, S.D. = 0.71), followed by shared leadership (equation = 3.77, S.D. = 0.62). The overall desirable condition was at the highest level (equation = 4.91, S.D. = 0.15), with supportive structure ranking highest (equation = 4.94, S.D. = 0.13), followed by collegial community (equation = 4.93, S.D. = 0.14).
2. The overall priority need index was 0.32, indicating a high level of development need. The highest priority was collegial community (PNI modified = 0.37), followed by supportive structure, professional learning and development, collaborative teamwork, shared leadership, and shared vision, respectively.
